Prepare With Focus For
Your ST Interview
You probably haven't had to go through a medical interview
in your career before
You might have had an interview to get into your medical
school, but that was a while ago and the interview panel's
agenda is going to be different this time
The structure of your interview will definitely be
different
For ST interviews, the precise format of the interview will
vary from deanery to deanery and from speciality to
speciality
You are likely to have more than one part to your
interview
There will be a "standard" interview exploring the issues
that we will cover in the paid online course, and might be one
or more of the following:
- Communication Skills Assessment - Possibly with a
professional patient type actor, with whom you have to
interact with. The three steps to communication questions,
that we will discuss in the course will definitely help you
here
- Presentation - where you may be given a generic topic
to prepare in about an hour. This will be a little tricky
and you should practice a few in advance. Remember that the
same principles of answering an interview will apply in
this scenario too
- Technical knowledge assessment in the form a classic
viva
- Portfolio based discussion or review
